Los Angeles Science Teacher Network Resources for Science Teachers:

LASTN started in September 2009 in Lisa Niver Rajna’s house, in May 2013 it will have its 14th meeting. There are over 70 science teachers from 40 schools who come to our Science Share meetings to talk about hands-on labs, assessment and creating engaging science experiments. Many meetings have 25+ teachers talking about science and education.

California Department of Education: The Education and the Environment Initiative (EEI) Curriculum has brand new curriculum in Science and Social Studies for Grade K-12
AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science) has a fantastic book as part for Project 2061 called Science for All Americans. I highly recommend it. I also like their Atlas.
Books about Origami:
Mining Information Institute: was in NSTA science grab bag
DEEP DOWN also about mining…an online game about the energy industry and coal mining. Students have to solve a power crisis in a fictional town.
